My award for Volunteering

This is in-continuation with my last post about the Tour of the Dragon (cycle race) that was held on 7thof September 2013. On the day before that our sir Mr. Ugyen Tshering was searching for around 20 volunteer students to cheer up the riders on their way. He came to our class and talk about that and I was very excited about that and without thinking anything, my friend Kinley Penjor and I volunteered for that, forgetting about the classes that we will be missing and weather condition on that day. To be true I didnt expect anything from BOC for this volunteer work, I just wanted to volunteer to appreciate the riders who are able to complete 268 km in a single day which I cannot imagine of doing at all, by simply cheering up for their efforts and strength. And this tour was world’s tough fest one day mountain ride. When we volunteer for something we should not expect something in return, if you expect something than that’s not a volunteer.

If you volunteer with your full heart, you will be rewarded in one way or another, one day. When we do something good, we have to appreciate our self-first and feel proud of our-self. To be true I really appreciate myself when I do something good and that make me feel proud. I was very happy when sir called us to give this certificate with the signature of the chief of BOC Dasho Jigyel and I really felt proud to be a part of Dragon Riders and BOC. So keep on volunteering and be proud of yourself always. And one day you will be rewarded directly or indirectly.

An UnExpected flood above my House

(my home)
It was on date 9th of May 2013 when I reached home from the school, the rain started and went on accelerating till it washed down all the soil from new PHPA hospital which is under construction above our house on the mt.slope.The water flow down like a waterfall and directly strike our house even the Dragon  Nest Resort. The water even got inside our neighbours house by penetrating the wall.I think they have not disposed soil properly which caused massive soil erosion.
previously when there used to be heavy rain we used to have a fair
(above our house)
that the water level of river below our house may raise and cause damage to our house and us but now we always have fair that soil erosion from above may_. I think they need to make proper drainage system around their constructions so that_

When I never missed my evening Prayer III

At almost end of that year, I saw her again in one of the gatherings in RBA(wangdue) ground during the national day I guess but couldn’t talk to her though she just walked away by my side. I just remained pretending not to see her and watch her going from behind like an idiot and she went.

I never thought of telling about this to any of my friends and let any of them know about this because I don’t like teasing others and when someone teases at me but somehow I told to my closest friend (panda) as he also used to tell me everything and he was a trustful man. When he came to know about this he was surprised and said how could he never notice that for the whole year? Again one of my close friends (b-ray) to whom I used to call my little bro came to know too as we two happened to be quite connected because the girl I admired and the girl he loved happened to be the group friends surprisingly. He always used talk about his admired girl to me and he used to think just like me that he may not get her and he is not capable of her. He too used to think that he is never going to propose her and watch her from the far sight enjoying the sweet feelings that we get when we really love someone truly without having any expectations in return.

I do sometimes used to ask him about her as her house was just on the way to his home and he used to tell me that many a times he saw her, sometime sitting lonely and sometime playing with her friends on his way to home. He always used to tease me by saying that “bro let’s go to see bowju (sister in-law) today” when we reach at the junction and I used to reply him by saying that one fine day we’ll surely go to see her and I used to questioned him “what if she is not outside her house when we go to see her?” moreover my lazy friend (panda) also always used say “let’s go next time today we are getting late to home”.

Finally one fine evening after the school we decided to go and see her no matter what happens. I was the protagonist among all the friends there and was feeling literally nervous while they were in their own world. From the deep inside I was really in intension and nervousness and I was thinking only one thing, what am I going to say on seeing her first of all? On the other side I too was thinking that “if I happened to see her somehow today I’ll feel that there is some connection between us and if I don’t see her today, then I’ll never think and talk about her from today” which was really crazy. While thinking that we reached in-front of her house. As she was not on the ground I directly looked up at her window which I was not sure of but I felt that, that might be her window but suddenly she just  appeared in-front of us carrying two dustbins on her both hands with her friend who was unknown to us.

I got shocked at once because may be I was thinking inside that I’ll not be able to see her that day and on seeing her suddenly just in-front of me, I turned blue and couldn’t say anything to her as usual but she gave a smile as soon as she saw me and that gave me the will to talk with her. Then I quickly walked to her and talked formally while my friends from behind might had been thinking that I was talking something different. It’s really funny. Fortunately her waste pit was just along our way. We reached to the pit and her friend threw her waste too while we kept on talking about the schooling and her plan to join the institute in Bumthang while my friends were looking at us from the behind with a big smile on their face making me more nervous.

We talked there for almost ten to fifteen minutes but while I was talking with her I could hear someone calling me from far away “dhan kr…!!! Which gradually became louder and louder “Dhan Kr…!!!DHAN..Kr..!!!!!!!R...U..NT..GOING..TO..SCOL...2DAY..!!! you are getting late…..!!! She was my mom calling me from my bed room’s window.

Windows Tips Fix My Slow PC!

Windows Tips - Fix My Slow PC!:
Isn’t it annoying to be surfing the web and all of a sudden, your computer drags to a crawl and you sit impatiently waiting for a page to load or a download to start? There are several common causes of the slowing down effect on your PC. I will discuss the following three things you can do to speed things up a little bit:
  • First, download a recommended registry cleaner
  • Clean and defrag the hard drive
  • Optimize Memory
  • Eliminate unnecessary programs from Loading into memory

Clan and Defrag the Hard Drive

A computer’s hard drive is the primary area on your computer used to store the operating system, applications and all the files you create. The hard drive is divided up into areas called sectors. Each sector can hold a certain amount of data. Each sector is further broken up into address spaces. Each address is unique so the operating system can find the data stored on the hard drive. Windows uses a master file table to store the address locations of every file on the hard drive.
Please notice that I said locations. Most files need more than one address location to store the whole thing. Windows will write each piece of the file in locations next to each other (called contiguous space) if possible. If that is not possible, the operating system finds an empty location and writes the data there. As a result, over time, as you edit different files the pieces of a file can be located all over the hard drive.
For example, this disjoint storage is like you putting your shoes in the garage, your pants in the kitchen, your socks in the bedroom, you shirt in the bathroom and you coat in the attic. Obviously if you did that, if would take a lot longer to get dressed in the morning. The same thing happens with files. When they are spread all over the place, it takes longer for windows to find the individual pieces and load them into memory.
This is why you need to both clean up and defrag your hard drive. The clean up process deletes temporary files, file fragments (pieces left over after being deleted), orphans (data whose owner can’t be determined) and data marked for deletion.
Defragging your hard drive is the process of moving all of the pieces of a file into contiguous space so it can be retrieved faster. The operating system will move data around until it gets all the correct pieces together. To defrag:
  • Turn the screen save off by right clicking anywhere on the desktop
  • Select Properties then click on the Screen Saver tab and select None.
  • Next, select My Computer then right click on the hard drive Select Properties then click on Tools.
  • Select Check Now as shown below to let windows check the hard drive for errors and fix them if necessary. This could take a while so you might want go do something else.
  • When that is finished, select Defragment Now.
This can take a really long time depending on the size of the hard disk. You might as well go do something else because you CANNOT use the computer while it is defragging.
WARNING: DO NOT TURN THE MACHINE OFF UNTIL DEFRAGGING IS COMPLETE OR IT MAY DAMAGE THE HARD DRIVE

Optimize Memory

There is an old saying in the computer field. “You can never have too much memory.” When I say memory I am talking about random access memory or RAM. RAM is the temporary storage area the operating system uses to store data that is being used currently and to load itself in so all of the commands are immediately available for use.
Otherwise, you would have to wait for the data to be retrieved from the hard drive and then be loaded into memory before you could use it. It would be similar to when you are waiting for a web page to download although not as long a wait.
When the system runs out of physical RAM it uses the hard drive as Virtual Memory and does have to retrieve and load data every time you need it. Virtual memory is also called a swap file. Optimizing reduces the need to swap data into and out of the swap file. You want to put as much memory as you can afford or the machine can hold to significantly speed up your machine.

Eliminate Unnecessary Programs from Loading into Memory

When your computer boots up, it loads all kinds of applications into memory. Most of these programs are called terminate and stay resident programs or TSRs. Closing these programs will free up memory and speed up your computer. In fact, it is even better if you don’t load the ones you really don’t need.
To prevent TSRs from loading go to:
  • Start -> Run and type msconfig into the dialog box
  • The System Configuration Utility will open.
  • Select the Startup Tab as shown below.

  • Uncheck any that you don’t use very often.
  • Click OK to exit.
  • Then reboot the computer.
If you don’t know what a file or what a service does, don’t uncheck it.
