Visit to the Khuju Lhakhang

On the 26 ^th of October (Saturday), it was one of the most important and religious day. It was the descending day of the Buddha Gautama from the nirvana to the earth for every living being on this earth. On this most important day, me and my friends decided to visit the Lhakhang on the top of the mountain peak where most of the people don’t go, thinking that it is very tough to reach their. But I believe that the more u suffer the more you get the blessing so we decided to go there.

 

We were nine in total and we started our journey at 8:00 AM from the Wangdue Bridge. There was a rough road till the Lhakhang but it was too twisted and too long, so we took the short-cut and we had no definite path, we rush from the middle of the blue pine jungle and reached at a beautiful resting place at half way to the Lhakhang from where we could see the whole Wangdue views. We took a long rest their and had a refreshment also.

 

We got up again and finally reached at our destiny at around 12:00 PM and offered our prayers and make wishes and all. We even received a blessing from the Truelku.

After that we had a heavy lunch on the beautiful lawn in-front of the Lhakhang. Had a long rest, chat, and I even had a good slept. And at around 3:00 PM, we again started our journey down towards the Wangdue Bridge and reached within one and half hour.

 Finally we disperse for our home sweet home. I reached home at around 5:30 PM and had a nice leg pain but in all, the trip was a very wonderful and successful one with friends.

Downgrade Windows 8 based PC to Windows 7

Most Windows 8 base PC such as HP Envy 15 notebook require BIOS/UEFI setup before you can downgrade it to Windows 7. Before we start I would like to point out important points:

For this tutorial :

• We use Internal DVD/CD- ROM as install disk. (change it base on your boot disk such as flash drive or external DVD/CD-ROM). 
• I strongly recommend to use Windows 7 SP1 because it is more stable and fix some bugs like remove pop-up notification about secure boot.

1.First step We need to access UEFI BIOS, here is how:

UEFI Firmware Setting on Windows 8

1. Press the Windows key + C, or swipe in from the right edge of the screen to open your Charms. 
2. Click Settings. Click Change PC Settings. In PC Settings, select General. 
3. Scroll down to the bottom and Under Advanced startup, click Restart now. 
4. In the boot menu, select Troubleshoot. 
5. In the Troubleshoot menu, select Advanced options.
6.  In the Advanced options menu, select UEFI Firmware Settings. 
7. Click Restart to restart the system and enter UEFI (BIOS). 
8. Make sure you already insert your windows 7 install disk before restart. 

 *UEFI/BIOS interface is different base on your notebook/PC


2.  Upon restart enter BIOS, make this changes:

The secure boot and Legacy support may located at different location base on your BIOS

• Legacy Boot or Legacy Support : Enable
• Secure Boot : Disable
• Boot order : Change the boot order by select your DVD/CD-rom as the first boot device. 

---

• note 1 : if you are installing using DVD) - If you are using USB Drive, make the USB Drive as the first boot device. Or - you can also change this boot device later (step 4)
• note 2: you may need to press certain button to enter BIOS, example for HP 2000 you need to press F10
• note 3 : New Bios - such Fujitsu AMI BIOS, secure boot is located under security panel. For most HP product it is located under system configuration.

3.Now press F10 to exit and save changes.

4. If you already set your first boot device (in step 2), skip this step, if not, upon restart - press ESC and press F9 to select your boot device.

Press F9 to select your boot device (windows 7 installation disk)

5. Select your boot device using the arrow key and press enter.(in this tutorial we use DVD/CD-Rom).

The Boot interface may look different base on your Notebook/PC

6. All Done, Windows 7 will start to install right away, (tutorial to install windows 7).


Partition Setup During Installation :

During Windows 7 installation, it will ask which partition you want to install windows 7. If you get the message:

"Windows cant be installed on drive 0 partition x " , 

you need to delete all partition and create a new partition before installing windows 7.
You can still create multiple partition later on by using disk management in Windows 7, for now just create one partition for Windows 7 Installation as your C drive). 


Additional Notes.

---

1. Not all Notebook/PC require this setup to downgrade to Windows 7, try to install Windows 7 normally first and if there is an error mean you do need  to setup the BIOS/UEFI.
2. Windows 8 base PC - Refer to  PC/Notebook/Desktop design specifically for per-installed with Windows 8. 
3. If you have the USB 3.0 option on your BIOS, go to "System Configuration", "USB 3.0 Config in Pre-OS" and set to "Auto".
4. If you are using USB Flash Drive as the boot device (Windows 7 install disk) - Make sure to format it as FAT 32 and use with USB 2.0 slot, do not use USB 3.0 slot.
5. If you are Using SDD (mSATA drive) - Change the Sata otion to AHCI (we actually want to disable Intel Smart Response Technology).
6. Each computer use different key to enter BIOS, check your manual for this or Google it. Here is some reference: 

• Asus : F8
• Sony : F2
• Gateway : F10
• Gigabyte : F12
• Dell : Del/F12
• HP/Compaq : F2/ESC
• Acer : F2/F12
• eMachines : F10
• Toshiba : F12
• Fujitsu : F12

How To Check Your Drivers Version

You can easily identify what driver version you have by looking at the specific driver properties. You can access the driver properties via Device Manager which available on all Windows Operating System.

For this example I will show how to check the graphic driver version:

1. First you need to open device manager

2. Next right click on any devices you want, then select properties.

3. After that click on the Driver Tab and you will see the Driver Version will show what driver version currently installed for your graphic.

You can also identify the driver provider and driver dates. Digital Signer will show wither your driver is digitally signed or not.

Chipset Driver Version:
Certain devices not directly named as it should be such chipset is nowhere listed on the device manager. The chipset is categorize under system device, here is example Intel chipset 6 series:

How to Disable Driver Signing Enforcement in Windows 8

Windows will prevent users to install drivers without digital signature so to enable drivers without signature installation you need to disable driver signing enforcement.

STEP 1
1. Press Windows key + R, when the "run" box appear type:

shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00

STEP 2
2. Before it restart, a start up setting screen will appear. Make the following selection:

Troubleshoot — Advanced options — Start Up Settings — Restart

3. Select " Disable driver signature enforcement" after reboot.

How to Identify Wireless Card Device

I feel it is important to write article about this matter since there are lots of reason for this and i think it is better to explain it in details. Nowadays, many laptop manufacture provide more than 1 wireless driver and ask you to choose base on your specification while there are no information given.

Content:

1. Press windows + R button,  a windows "RUN" utility will open. (all windows OS)
2. To open device manager Type DEVMGMT.MSC and press enter or OK.

3. Device manager will open, look for Network Adapter and expand it.

Note 1: You can see your wireless name appear (red box in the picture).
Note 2: If it marked with yellow means you need to install the driver for it.

4. Right click on it and select properties, you will get more details about your wireless device.

This 1 is simple, but if no drivers installed, you wont see the wireless name but it will list it as "network adapter", network device or else with yellow mark on it.

1. Right click on the network adapter marked with yellow.
2. Select properties - Details and on the drop down menu select hardware ID.

3. Copy the hardware ID and Google it, you will have more than one line, choose any line to search and you will see the result displaying the exact name for your wireless device. Example i use the 3rd line from picture above

4. Now, there are other result that discuss the same hardware ID in details and give the driver version to use for your device.

5. If your manufacture provide 3 different wireless drivers example Intel, atheros and broadcom, you can use this method to determine which to download and install.

How to Stop Windows Keep Automatically Installing Drivers

Whenever you plug in a new device, or windows found a new hardware, Windows will detect and automatically install available in-box compatible drivers. It will also search the drivers on the web or via Windows Automatic Updates. The problem with this setting is whenever you uninstall a device from device manager, it will keep re-install it after reboot or after you select "scan for hardware changes". A very good reason to uninstall the current driver from device manager permanently is varies such as:

1. Windows install the default driver which does not work. When we uninstall it to install different drivers, it will re-install the previous drivers before we able to install the other driver.

2. The default driver version which windows keep installing is newer then the version we want to use, so windows will prompt "the current driver version is newer than this package".

1 : OPEN GROUP POLICY EDITOR
Click start and on the search box type gpedit.msc and press enter. This will open Group Policy Editor.

Click yes if prompted

2: Go through (Expand by clicking the arrow button) : Computer Configuration -System - device Installation and Click device installation Restriction. The on the right pane double click on " Prevent Installation of devices not described by other policy setting".

3. Select enable, you can always change this setting by clicking disable (by default this option is not configured).

4. Reboot to apply this change. Now your computer will not automatically install the drivers you already uninstalled.

How to Upgrade or Replace Your laptop GPU

It is not difficult to replace your laptop graphic card, the hard part is to upgrade where you need to identify which graphic is better and compatible with your laptop. So how to identify which graphic card is compatible? for this one you need to get advice from laptop graphic card seller and they will tell you what is the compatible graphic cards you can buy for you laptop model. You also can call the service center or Google the Video Cards replacement parts for your model or read the Manuals. For example HP NX9420 and NW series can use Nvidia FX 1500M over AMD Mobility Radeon X1600.

A. Upgrade and Replacement Process
Get your laptop service manual, you will need to read the part removal and replacement. You can get it from your laptop manufacture site. For this tutorial we will replace Acer Aspire 7720 With ATI Graphic Card.

1. Remove the back cover by loosen the screw and open the back compartment.
*Note : For othe model such as HP or DELL or other models, the removal might be slightly different. Please refer your manual.

2. Next step is to remove the heatsink. Unscrew the driver and carefully remove the heatsink.

3. Now loosen the Graphic Chipset Screw, and carefully pull to remove it from the slot.

4. Insert you new graphic and apply fair amount of thermal paste.

5. Lastly put the heat sink back in place and close the back compartment.


C. Things to consider before Upgrade/Replacement.
1.Normally if there is only a slight increase in graphic performance after upgrade. You cant expect to get from 256MB to 512MB. Normally 251Mb to 358MB is the highest replacement I ever know.

2. This method originally intend for replacement where lots of GPU is defect caused by high temperature.

3. Upgrade normally requires you to replace both Mainboard and GPU which costs more than a new laptop, so you better use that money to buy a new one instead of upgrading. Replacement on the other hand only requires a new the same new graphic chipset which is available on

4. If your graphic chipset is defect by overheating, make sure after the replacement the temperature is below 60 degree. Different graphic chip will produce different amount of heat and you need to observe the temperature carefully. Otherwise it will defect again after 30-days (or less).

How to Install Old Soundmax Audio Driver in Windows 7

If you have an old laptop and install windows 7 on it, you may notice that your laptop have no audio. Sometimes device manager tells you it is installed and the volume bar work perfectly, but you can still hear no Sound. When you try to download the driver, your manufacture no longer provide updates for Windows 7, what is available only the old driver for Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Before we begin, Soundmax uses AC97 audio which is similar to Realtek AC 97 Audio. Try the AC97 audio first because sometime it did work on some model. Download Link

1. For this example we will install audio on IBM t42. First download your original XP Driver. (for t42 here is the driver: Download )

2.  Extract the driver file using 7zip or Winrar. Remember the path/location where we extract the driver file.

3. Now open device manager by click start and select run, type DEVMGMT.MSC

 
 2. Look at the audio controller and right and select update driver.

 3. Then select browse my computer for the Driver software

4.Click on browse and point to the driver folder we extracted ealier.

It will takes some time to find the driver file and install it. It will prompt i is not compatible but install it anyway.

Loneliness is a thing to be felt sometime

Since from my childhood I was all alone and there are many sad stories behind these which I even don’t want to recollect which still makes me sad on thinking those days. Sometimes I used to think that I may be the unluckiest child on this earth who lost his mom when he was only eight months old and father who was as good as not there. A child who couldn’t recognize his mother when he got to see her only on 8 for the first time in his life after gaining his sense. I had to face lots and lots of difficulties in my relative’s houses. I was almost like an orphan till I joined the school in 2002 which was done by my uncle and not parents and for only these, many many thanks goes to him from deep. And this is the only reason why I think myself as a lucky man. My only sister didn’t got the chance to go to the school and get the education for which she still regret and it’s all because my useless father. Being in others houses was a very difficult and I always used to remain alone but I never lost my hope to live and survived all the hazards somehow.

My happiness arrived in 2003 when I got to stay with my mother but it was only for a year after a long time and after 2005 when I got to stay with her permanently but the loneliness was still there in me. As the years passed situation grew better and better and I got used to with the loneliness and I got adapted with it. I start liking it gradually and it was only friend. I had and have hundreds of friends but never found a friend to whom I can call as my best friend. I don’t know whether something was wrong with me or what? Best friend means a lot for me who is with us in times of happiness and sorrow. Friends are with us for only few hours or few days but after that loneliness will again grape you. Even best friends leaves us one day no matter how close we are.

The best way to escape form loneliness is to love loneliness I believe. When you start liking the feeling of loneliness, you don’t feel like hang out with friends and do crazy things always. Of course we have to do that and I too feel like doing that but not always. If we always stay with friends and enjoy every day then you tend to forget the value of friendship, celebration and enjoyment. If we celebrate the occasion occasionally then only we know the value occasion. When we love loneliness we don’t need any friends to make us happy and smile always but we’ll be happy in our own ways. We’ll get time to think more and do more things for ourselves. Without friends we can’t celebrate but we can enjoy we can’t laugh always but we can smile and above all our mind will be in peace always. When we love loneliness we’ll love silence and peace and it’s a great thing to experience sometime. It’s really hard for us to love loneliness but we have to accept it sometime. Being lonely for some time gives our mind to take rest and we’ll be in peace always.

Problems arrive when we are with friends as we feel like doing many crazy things that we are not supposed to do actually. All unwanted activities like drinking abusing drugs and fighting are all accompanied by being with friends all the time. When we are with friends we get carried away in the influence of some friends and that becomes our habits gradually. And when friends are not around us that’s when we die of being alone and it really happens sometimes. So why not make loneliness itself your friend which will never betray you. Loneliness means peace and I love peace. Loving loneliness never means to neglect our friends and stop having fun. We do have to have fun with friends enjoy with them sometimes and I too do that but we should never forget that we have to depart after meeting and we’ll again remain all alone. We should never try to run away from loneliness because we can’t. The more we try to escape from it the more we feel the pain of loneliness. If you are peace lover you should never try to do that. Just stay in your own world and enjoy with what is around you that’s life for me. How to Install Driver Without Internet Connections

Your PC and Notebooks/Laptop needs drivers after windows/OS installation. What we normally do is run automatic updates so windows will download and install  necessary drivers for our system. What if there are no internet connection? Example, you just finish installing windows 7 on your notebook but there are no wireless connection because the wireless drivers not yet installed. There are few ways we can install drivers without internet connection.

1. Use the Installation Disk/CD - (if you still have it)
Usually your computers comes with installation disk/CD/DVD, you may have more than one disk/CD/DVD. One of the disk contains drivers for your computers. What you need to do is insert the disk into CD/DVD-ROM and run the setup to install the drivers. You can identify the Drivers installation disk by looking at the cover written "drivers and utility" or similar.

2. Download from second device and transfer it to your computers.
If you have other device that do have internet connection, you can use it to download the drivers for your computers and transfer it via USB cable/ThumbDrive etc. Example, if you have an iPad, browse the internet and go the manufacture site and then search your model within the manufacture site. Download the drivers and transfer it to your computers.

3. Using Restore/Recovery CD.
Most notebooks manufacture provide recovery CD, insert your recovery CD and follow the on-screen instruction to complete the process.

4. Look for driver backup in your hard-disk (Sometimes Hidden)
This option available if you didnt wipe out your entire disk for windows installation. If you install windows Vista/7/8 over previous installation (install without formatting) or (upgrade), you will have a Windows.Old folder on your c drive. If you open that folder you will see your original files store in that folder. If you are using notebook there are a great chance that your drivers are in the folder. For example Hp product will have Swsetup folder in the windows.old drive, Dell will have dell folder, Toshiba will have "driver" folder, similarly with other laptop. Sometimes, you just did not notice the company already make drivers backup on your other partition (D/E).

5. Final Option - Cybercafe
This will cost you some dollars to go and download your drivers - store it in CD/external storage, but better than repair shop fee.

Best Practice:
Make sure to backup your drivers on Mass storage Device (pendrive/card reader/external hard disk etc) or CD/DVD for future use and never trash any recover/drivers CD provided by the manufacture.
Make sure you have all the drivers needed before installing new Operating System and check whether your manufacture support the Operating System of your choice or not.
